Shiratori Ryushi è un ragazzo che si trasferisce a Tokyo per frequentare una scuola d’arte, dato che vuole diventare un illustratore di libri per bambini. Va ad abitare alla “Narutakisou”, pensione amministrata da una giovane ragazza di nome Kozue Aoba, sempre molto gentile con tutti.
Oltre a lui, vivono nel palazzo altre cinque persone, tutte piuttosto eccentriche. Con grande sorpresa di Ryushi, il ragazzo scoprirà poi che la più bizzarra è proprio la dolce Kozue, che nasconde un incredibile (e complicato) segreto!
